I got my torch around 2 weeks ago and it was open all that time. Then a week ago it fell really hard onto the bottom of the tank. I put it back and a week later about, good flow, good light, feeding twice a week, it just won't ever open. Only one of the 3 polyps is not even halfway open but it's a little open. Any answers?

Also water is great, every coral is thriving except that torch.

Corals can take a while to get over whatever upsets them. Hopefully improves, but no guarantees as soft tissue was likely damaged.

You may want to dip it in iodine, but I have found that once the soft tissue is damaged you might not be able to help. Just watch out for an infection from the bad head killing the good head.

Interesting you say…I just posted about a torch being quite grumpy while its friends are pretty ok.
I hadn’t thought much about it till now, but my tunze scraper fell onto it a few days ago, just barely banging it and it’s a nano one so it’s small, but now I’m wondering if THaTS the problem! Still mad at me. To the OP, seems this theory is holding true in both our situations so that might just be it. Boo.

How’s yours turning out?

I'd get some ciprofloxacin dips or iodine usually won't help a torch much never stops bjd I had a dogface puffer go rogue overnight taking bites out of all my torches and hammers been dosing my whole tank with ciprofloxacin and 90% of them are starting to bounce back only lost 1 so far
