I have a zoanthid colony that has something growing in the middle of it. It's brown with glowing green tips, and sort of looks like a tiny torch coral, but I'm starting to wonder if it's a type of anemone. Any thoughts?

Definitely not a torch, possibly an anemone.

Can't be an anemone since it has multiple mouths and fused polyps/corallites. My guess is it's some sort of "fleshy" stony coral but I hesitate to narrow it down past that. Maybe, just maybe, it's in the vastly expansive family of Faviidae (or as it's correctly called, Mussidae)

I am admittedly terrible with these pictures. I can't even see anything I would positively identify as a mouth.

I removed the colony from my display tank so I could get a better look at it. This new macro photo shows it's definitely some sort of coral, maybe a favia?

I'm just relieved to see it's not an invasive anemone!
