Picked up a micronesian torch today and have a question about placement. I put it about midway up the tank maybe a little higher than midway but after doing some reading I’m wondering if I need to move it down in the tank.
I currently have a waterbox 20 cube that is 16” deep with an AI Hydra 26hd 10” above the water line running at 20% intensity. It’s a softy/lps tank. Thanks for the help!

Personally I would start it in the sand bed to let it acclimate. Then slowly move it up to the spot you want, although the torch does look happy there.

If its opening and looks to be fully extended. Then the placement is good. Every time you move a coral it almost in a way restarts the growth/acclimation process. A coral will tell you when it doesn't like its placement.
