I was literally randomly watching my tank and i see one of the polyps flew from the torch, and landed on the sand? Tank is 4 months old. All corals doing great.

This is confusing for me. How’s that possible happen?

could be related to flow or even fish, unless its a full head bailout I would not be worried

Hi.
Sounds like polyp bailout.
The following may cause such issue:
Constant change in parameters, especially temperature and salinity.
Not enough light - I highly doubt that it would be your issue
And the things mentioned above.

+Rarely, usually not in aquariums it means repdroduction. - I highly doubt this aswell
+Some aquarists have experienced the bailed polyps regrowing skeleton, however this case is very rare.

A polyp or tentacle?
What’s the flow on that torch high or medium/low
Not the whole thing. Its like someone cut the tip of the polyp. Or something very random, weird

It does have nubs hands, but they told me thats because leds? As my duncan does the same.

That is serious flow you got going on.
It most likely ripped off like a crack of the whip.

I have never seen one just fly off any of my torches. They have broken off often when hit or if the torch gets knocked over but it's never been a problem. It's a good idea to remove it though because they do sting as mentioned. As far as flow I have seen torches take a ton of flow and abuse once they are used to it but they do better when fully extended which protects them from their own skeleton. I just moved my favorite torches to a new tank with lighting and flow planned for SPS because I don't want to get rid of them. The flow at the bottom of my tank is probably twice yours and they look like they are doing ok...so far.
