Got this torch last night. I'm assuming it's still acclimating...but what gives...one head clearly happy...other 2 branches scardie cats?

Nitrate 2
Phos 0 - 0.03
Calcium 450
Mg 1350
Dkh 7.3 (working to bring this up)

Other corals loving life.

To add: maybe lower a bit? Maybe it’s too high getting too much light either needing light acclimation or lowering?

Do you have anything that can be bothering it like fish/ crab? My emerald crabs pick at the base of some corals. Really only bothers the Duncan.

Not in an area of high flow, purposefully. Off to the side also...so no under direct light. Just off one brach has come out to play and the others just chilling out still. Will see.

See. Everyone just peachy except them 2 branches. One has a tentacle out, feel like it's just taking its time....hopefully lol

Still not open. Called the store I got them from. "We don't take back livestock" lol in their defense it's only been 2 days. #ocd

That doesn't look good at all. Is the other head still doing good or is it receding a bit too?

That's really strange. All I can think of is to closey inspect it for pests and dip it.
I did dip prior (obviously) to putting in tank. I inspected it quite thoroughly as well. Just strange seems like it's totally receeded. I had a zoa that wouldnt really open for 3 or 5 days.

I had a branching hammer I bought that was a bit retracted. Looked closely and found hydroids. Cut the heads as close as I could to the tissue (removing the skeleton with hydroids) and they’ve been much happier since.

Yeah. I inspected it. Couldn't find anything.

Hoping just acclimating. I don't want to start cutting up my corals lol.

I don't know man, I think those heads have moved past the acclimating theory. They can can still come back to life but they don't look good. I would be thinking about separating the good head from them

If it makes you feel any better I could post some pics of the tons of coral skeletons I have laying around ;)

I probably don't have the tools to remove the head from the others. Gonna have to wait it out. And worse case take it as a loss I guess. Sucks tho

This is what happened when I got home . I called the store, they said they don't take back corals. Today is day 3, on their website they have a DOA within 3 days. I wrote a lengthy email, in hopes I can get a refund. So sad lol

Yikes. That's too bad. I know that feeling all to well. Good luck with the lfs. I'd still look at bumping up those nitrates and phosphates. Maybe add a fish or just feed more.

Also fwiw it could still come back to life. I would keep it in your tank

The 2 dying heads their GUTS came out when I took them out. That would still come back? I dunno. Put in my quarentine tank by itself upstairs for now. Just added a new fish.
