Torch literally shrunk up a bunch an hour ago like it was suffocating to death.

Then I get home and it’s coming out like this like normal but it’s mouth is open. Is it trying to split ? Parameters haven’t changed

Checked ALK and it was 8.8. Usually stick 8.6-9.2

That’s not how torches split. The single head would start to pinch and form a shape like the figure 8 and then continue until there are 2 separate distinct heads. This usually take several months. Doesn’t look like your torch is splitting just yet.

Doesn't the first picture show it starting to figure 8 with the flesh in between the "2" heads lifting up and starting to pinch tho? indicating that its starting the process. Op saying that it has 2 mouths makes it seem like its already in the process isn't it?

This is what I thought

I'd say that is still (1) pinched head, on it's way to becoming (2) heads, but not there yet...

The flesh is still connected between, so it isn't currently fraggable into (2) heads yet without damaging flesh. So I'd say it's still one (pinched) head.

Once the flesh between the two heads separate and you'd be able to frag it without damaging flesh, then I'd say it's got 2 heads.

I believe that torches don't split like anemones do. they would be growing a new head on the side of the coral trunk or w/e it's called
I have 2 that have split. They elongate, start to form almost a figure 8 that eventually becomes the saddle between 2 new heads. Yours looks like the beginning of a split. This guy was about golf ball sized single head August of last year.
