Does anyone know why my tourch is starting to look like a hammer, it's been getting thick tips for around 2 weeks. It starts off with the tentacles forming another tip.

I think that’s pretty average. I know there are Aussie and indo torches so this looks like an Aussie, which could explain its growth more thick and stubby (like a hammer) compared to its cousin, the indo torches.

It's been in my tank for a few months, in the shop it had long thin tentacles with small tips like my other 3 torches, it's only started looking like this for the past 2 weeks it's always looked like a torch. I also saw the mother colony it was fraged off. Here it is now looking different again 3 hours after first photo.

Do you think I should move it away from my torch as they do touch
Torches and hammer together, torch wins ime. I would give them room apart from one another.

Hope they didn’t charge you torch prices for that... not that it’s not a nice coral either way.

Yes they did £85 per head and if its a hammer it's more like £45 per head. It's strange as the shop is one man owned and ran, it is meant to be the best in the south west of uk

I've heard some torches change color. not found anything great on a quick search. maybe you all know better.

I have a hammer that’s been in the tank for 18 months. I moved it to a new spot 3 weeks ago and the tips are now changing. instead of a straight hammer bar across the end, the hammers are getting curved into an S shape.
I love how these things keep us guessing!
