I have had this torch since may 25th of this year. Some of you have seen my posts on this situation.
It arrived injured and isn't healing at all. If anything it is getting worse, it has torn off it's tentacles and even ate some of them. I feed the torch twice a week. I offer reef riods and mysis. Today, it rejected all food.
I have a very healthy hammer garden and my oldest colonies are splitting heads again. I have an older aussie torch that is showing no ill signs. And continues to grow.
I just don't know what to do for my indo torch. It's a matter of time before it turns into nothing.

My water parameters are and have been at
salinity 1.026

ph 8.1 - 8.2 saliferts

Red sea test kits

alk between 8.5 - 9
calcium 450
magnesium 1500

Saliferts
nitrite - 0
nitrate - 0

hana checker
Phosphate .04

I removed 10 cups of chaetomorpha earlier today. Maybe it's taking up all the nutrients.

Here is the torch upon arrival

Here it is today, it tucks itself away during sleep time. It's been doing this the past week.

As an update, there was a little more dead and dying tissue on the coral. I did a iodine dip and watched some of the base tissue flow off. A little bit of it looks to be peeled off and still dying.
I think I am done with torches at this point. When it appeared to be healing, it was probably my imagination. Or there was just that much damage to begin with.
I am at a complete loss on this one.

Maybe I am over thinking it, the pink band under the torch is turning brown now. My older torch never had a pink band.

well you have gotten this, this far, mod light mod flow ,keep eye out for BJD.
most torches gone bad are usually gone by now.. ;) keep doing what you are doing.

I'm worried about the flesh peeling from the plates. One looks to be half exposed. I can't tell if it wants more or less light.
He's at 70-80 par right now. He showed signs of light shock "tentacle decapitation". So I moved it from 100 par. It stopped ripping them off and eating them.
Now I worry about keeping the exposed skeleton Clean. This has been a long fight.

par sounds fine for now ,moderate random flow, and yes try to keep as clean as possible..
think is about all you can do rt now.. @Eagle_Steve any input??

It has a nice flow, it's waking up right now. I'll try to make a video to show flow. It's random and gentle. My other torch loves that kind of flow. But never fully tucks in for the night. Just moderate deflation like the rest of my lps.

This torch is a fickle little...

Let's see if I can get a video to work, if not. I'll put it on youtube.
Nope, video wont load on here.

No brown jelly yet. It's a matter of getting the torch to grow new tissue where it died from shipping.. I'm not sure if it's beyond help or what. It's been almost 2 months now.

not dead yet... ;) are them black spots near base or holes?
just maintain big 3 ,keep an eye on, would suggest moving away from other lps..
flow looks good ,poss little bit more ok...:)

Those are holes. I am tempted on removing the torch from the plug and seeing if there might be some lps eaters in there. It's already in need of so much help.

maybe cut w hacksaw blade just above holes, iodine dip,imo worth a shot.. ;)

agree try to space 4-6 days apart ,in this case wait until sat ,unless going downhill, then must go for it .
even at a 2 day mark jmo.. @MERKEY @F i s h y ??

Sounds like you are doing what you can.

From your numbers and pictures I'd say it is nutrient deprived.

Are you keeping any sps?

If not I'd say slowly get N and P up to 10-20 and .1

In my experience torches recover very very painfully slowly. They also may not grow back over the skeleton.

Here is a torch that was damaged. You can see the old dead skeleton and it growing new heads out from where the flesh was peeled back. A healthy single head torch has grown to probably 12 heads in that time while this one remains a single large splitting head trying to grow upwards out of a old dead skeleton. The damage really stunted its growth.
