Yes the torch looks good but that algea bloom needs to be put in check

No doubt! I’ve been posting about it in the algae forum asking for help but no one is posting.. any suggestions? I’ve been doing water changes like crazy.

Are you using tap water or R\O for water changes? Using any kind of phosphate remover media? Do you have any turbo snails?

Vodka dosing. I just did a month straight and added more turbos and almost all gone.

Okay let’s do a full break down
What kind of tank do you have?
How old is your tank?
What are your water parameters
What light are you using
What is your light schedule
What is your feeding schedule/amount
What’s your filtration equipment
What’s your waterchange schedule
And are you using RO/DI for your water changes

I am using R/O for water changes. I currently have PhosGuard in filtration. I have two turbo snails.

I have the fluval evo 13.5

Tank is around 4 months old.

I currently have current marine orbit light but that changes tomorrow.. AI Prime HD

Light currently comes on at 12 and off 8

Currently feed my LPS brine shrimp once every 4 days.. no fish currently.

I have nothing in first chamber, second chamber i have bottom the bio cubes.. second level chemipure elite.. and top PhosGuard

I’ve been trying to do 5 gallon water changes every few days recently

And yes using RO/DI water from my LFS for changes

I can get you parameters shortly

Hmmm well the only other thing I can think of is limiting your white lights a little more. My last tank got that bad with hair algae and I couldn’t tackle it until I upgraded tanks, stopped using any tap water, run a media reactor with phosphate removal, have 3 turbos and turn my whites down to only 6 hours a day and I don’t have any hair algae except in my sump but that’s just because I need to get a timer for that light. I’m no expert though so this is just my opinion from my experience

Also I scrubbed the majority of the long hair algae off the rocks with a toothbrush then the turbos took care of it from there. Might try a sea hare also but I didn’t have any luck with mine he just headed straight for the powerheads every time I moved him out of them

I’m gonna take a swing and say your rock is cycling and your tank doesn’t have a balance yet. At 4 months of age algea blooms are common. Best to find your stability and give it time to burn out. Then slowly remove more and more each water change. I would use some ChemiClean too.
