Torches are dying

This is the second time I have purchased a torch and it did fine for a week or so then started dying.
1.026 so
9.2 alk
500 cal
1300 mag
.028 phosphate
0.0 nitrate

There are 3 torches and a frogspawn in the same area( same light and flow ) but only the newest torch is dying, others are great.

I am confused and need some help. Hopefully I can save this one

My understanding is torches do not like each other. I have only kept one at a time, but corals will fight. From the picture, you have a large Euphyllia/Anemone that is close to the new one and it is probably killing it.

Is it only that spot where they start dying?
Have you tried moving somewhere else?
It is possible the big torch is stinging out the new ones.

They aren't touching, but I guess that is possible. Should I dip it while I'm moving it or just move it?

DIpping in a gentle dip could be beneficial. Torches have long sweepers that if close will sting each other. Move quite far away for best results.

Your nitrate at 0 is not good for torches. You want it to be 5-10 otherwise they will starve. Also moderate flow. Generally torches touching each other is fine. Just not other euphyllia such as hammers or frog/octospawns.

I moved him just to be safe. I have increased my feeding to try to raise nitrates

All same species or heads on a colony? Some torches can rub elbows but not all. Yours are beautiful by the way. I have a big purple that the lime and gold shed away from as it grew. I gave them more room and now all are happy.

Did anything change in your acclimation procedure or the lfs’s water or supplier? Maybe these guys just aren’t adjusting like your other ones did.

there are 8 heads in total the closest to the glass are a double banana touch with a double dragon soul upfront of it a malay 24k a double head reaper a big sungod head which is back right with the super yellow tips and another single dragon soul straight up it gives a nice effect in the current

Would you happen to know what torch variety the new one is? Generally, Australian torches are harder to maintain than the Indonesian ones.

Try the king fu coral dip. You can find it on their website. They sell a kit if you don’t have access to the products but it works wonders.

Is there a chance your Torch had Brown Jelly Disease? This thread speaks to using Cipro as a treatment for BJD, and specifically In Tank. But your torch looked like it was removable. It could have gotten a dedicated Cipro treatment.

Watch the rest of your torches. If they start going down hill...

Try the king fu coral dip. You can find it on their website. They sell a kit if you don’t have access to the products but it works wonders.

I’ve used it. As long as it’s not to late it should help and having good water parameters.

If they are dying within a week they are probably dying from a bacterial disease. They are super stressed from importing and all the shipping points along the way. They are easily damaged around the top of the skeleton too which makes them prone to infection. All my Euphyllia go through an antibiotic dip when I first get them and then I monitor very closely for several weeks and dip again if needed or dose the tank directly.
