Hello

I have a small 28 gallon nano and have got a little bit more coral than I should have... (eyes bigger than my common sense). I already have a golden torch in my tank and just got a nice frammer frag coming (I am assuming that is a hybrid frogspawn and hammer). My question is, can these corals touch each other or will they sting each other?

I thought corals that were the same could touch and I just don't know if these are close enough to fall under that rule.

Thanks

They are all in the same family so they should be ok. I've seen them all right next to each other before in different tanks. Put them together if that's what you need to do and if you notice they're stressed move them apart.

I have had my torch bother my hammer when I had them close together.

Hammer and frogspawn no problem, I have seen some people say torch's can have issues, or rather give issues to those they touch.

Torches are definitely the stronger Lps in this group. Hammers and froggies can touch. Torches cannot touch any of these.

Torches are temperamental. Some will play nice others will not. A had a gold torch. Attacked frogspawn on day one. My yellow tip played nice with my yellow hammer than attacked the mint green hammer it was near for months. Torches are with caution and as i know can suddenly dis-like a neighbor.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I have a golden torch frag and just got a neon "farmer" frag from cherry corals. I had thought if they were in the same family, they would be "immune" to each others sting. I am learning quite a bit from those on R2R.

I think I will just try to make sure they are far enough apart to not touch. (or at least as far apart as I can in my small tank)
