Hey guys,

I noticed my torches are beginning to thin out and bubble. One of which is smaller, is thinning out faster. The larger aussie torch is starting to and this occurred over a period of time.

The only changes has been an increase in phosphates, which is currently 0.30 and salinity at 1.026 from 1.030.

I performed a water change to reduce the phosphates and salinity, however through research it appears as flow can thin the torches.

Are they in trouble or is this normal?

If you look closely, you can see the tips form 3 sections and or bands. Nitrates are at 2. Wonder if I have been starving them.

It's to be expected that they will change over time as they adjust to the conditions in your tank. They appear healthy to me, and I would guess they are getting enough food based upon your phosphate levels. My LPS thrive when I overfeed the tank.

Great thank you guys for your help. @Kris reef I've ways seen your posts! Normally I keep my nitrates at 7-10 and i changed my purigen about a month and half ago and they've remained low since then.

I removed it yesterday altogether in fear this is what caused it. I'll let the nitrates rise again and keep them consistent again.
