What do you mean the bucket you're using, sorry im trying to help ! .. calcium can be lowered by dosing less .. but yeah, i would need to know you're dosing methods :/

Dont fear too much, torch corals are on the hardier side and by expierence the torch will give you time to figure it all out. Do as much research as you can, my torch is thriving but i cant help if i dont know your dosing routine / methods. Heres a pic of mine, hes a little shrunken down right now since its getting late lol

I heard from my 2 trusted LFS guys,"they do not ship well during the summer time. Come back in October." So I live by that.
I have 2 Aussie gold torches that are perfectly fine. That I did so happen to pick up at Fragtoberfest.
Then I bought a gold torch and yellow hammer at the same time from two different vender at a frag swap in the spring time. They both melted. While the 2 AUS gold are still doing great! I put a bag of Chemi Pure Elite in one of HOB filters to reduce phosphates. 2 days before the 2 corals melted. Not sure if that was the reason, but my water parameters where all good.

My bucket is my bucket of salt. My salt is mixing at 540 cal so I cant reduce. My dosing is 3 part with calcium turned off right now.

Yeah ive gone through about 6 torches now.. maybe I'm just not meant for them.

How long has your tank been up? Some folks claim tanks less than a year can't support a torch coral. I lost a few very early on and haven't added one since...

9 months. I have STN issues with some SPS but some are encrusted and happy.

Could just be new tank syndrome but I hate that, not scientific at all.

Try moving the coral to a lower-flow area of the system, this should cause the torch to extend its polyp's in search for flow. Once you achieve it slowly move the torch to a higher flow area. Make sure the torch coral is not getting just pounded in one direction with flow constantly these corals tend to really not enjoy that. Also try feeding your torch, the meatier you want it to be the meatier the foods you must provide for it. Mysis shrimp is a great cheap food for torches.

Side-note; your Magnesium is good, but could definitely be slightly raised.

What are you using to test your calcium level with?

I don't feed mine and they have grown multiple heads in the years I've had them. They do best in med to low flow and par around 100-150, so lower in the tank.

Mine love NO3 10-20 ppm and trace of PO4. (Actually all my SPS do too.)

Thanks everyone.

The only thing they dont really have is alternating flow due to tank placement. This is my coral qt tank 20 gallons. Ill try to move them.

I have noticed that some torches are hardier than others. I also suspect that mine don't really like an extended photoperiod, or rapid light color changes (like when my LEDs suddenly switch from white to blue at night) but that is still speculation.

No evidence but I also feel like Euphylia doesnt like Chemipure. Lost a hammer amd torch a few days after adding it to my biocube. Both were fine prior tonusimg it. Ive also noticed my Euphylia especially torches get angry if Alk drops below 8.5 lost a head on one colony when it dipped below 8. Brought it up and stopped additional loss.

Your numbers look okay for the most part. I have about 9 or so euphyllias in my tank and they do well in Alk near 8.4 and my calcium is closer to 480. You may want to use a good salt brand that matches the parameters you are trying to achieve. Makes it easier to dose and avoid large fluctuations. Also, I would give them some space between each other. Your flow looks good as well.

Im using @Aquaforest , I might go to red sea pro though, or straight IO, not sure how low nutrient and reef crystals would mate up, probably not well.
