Hiii,

Please help, this is fairly urgent. This mushroom arrived today, and is unfortunately a little torn due to falling over in the bag during transport.

Will normal coral dip be okay for prevent bacterial infections or do I meed to buy an iodine dip?

iodine is essential to coral growth in the long run if you are planning on adding more corals eventually, the I would recommend you get some. but I've also heard that if you have fewer than 10 corals, that it may not be neccessary, so I think you'll be fine with a normal coral dip.

place in low light low flow and monitor. i would get an iodine dip in case it gets worse but shrooms are fairly hardy.
Iofine dipped for about 7.5 minutes, fairly strong solution as advised by the label. Not looking to good this morning, I had cut the slime off to prevent it spreading. But it has grown more slime overnight. For the sake of other corals, I'm debating removing it completely

Well first off it’s not as bad as a torn Tushie!!

that doesn’t look like a standard, Dicosoma mushroom which is easily kept and reproducing through tearing

that looks more like a Rhodactis which is still easy to keep

but my fear is it’s a Yuma which are difficult and if so that may be more of an infection from shipping stress

I believe it was a Rhodactis, but unfortunately, it got infected and started secreting brown slime/jelly. I have since removed it from the tank as a precaution for my other corals. Thanks for your help though!
