Would using a total(or free?) chlorine water tester on your RO carbon prefilter output a useful way to tell when to change your carbon? Does anybody here do this? If so, should you use a total chlorine test result greater than zero ppm as the carbon replacement indication point? Thanks

I'm not sure it needs to be on the prefilter, but a test of the final effluent for total chlorine that was positive would indicate a need for some sort of change, either a replacement carbon filter or a more effective carbon filter.
