Total newbie with questions

Hi all! I am very new to this hobbie but have wanted a happy little sea garden forEVER! I have a biocube 32 that is just 2 months old. I have 2 fire gobies, a lawnmower blenny, a flowerpot and candy cane coral and one other that i cannot identify and clearly needs help.

Can someone help me identify this poor little orange coral and help me figure out flow and lighting for it? Thanks sooo much!

So Far thats as good as it gets. Under blue lights it is extremely flourescent orange. I feel like if i can find the right flow and light it could be very pretty...

Hard to tell... possibly a Zoa? If so, they are easy to please. I would raise it up closer to the light and see if it improves.

Those are some very unhappy and retracted zoanthids. Are they possibly getting too much or too little light? Or maybe 0 nitrates and phosphates?

Hi and welcome .
Looks almost like a sun coral but hard to tell from the picture. .
Generally sun corals have tissue between each polyp where this doesn’t .
Can you get a clearer picture ?
Is the entire polyp to the frag disk mushy or is it hard ?
Also resembles a Duncan a little .
Further .. keep a eye on the flowerpot . They were once said to be one of the hardest corals to keep successfully long term .
only recently over the last 10 years have more successes been reported

Looks like Maldive Pavona coral also called cup coral

Recently got zooplankton and phytofeast...also have reef roids but have not used yet. Fish are getting very small amount of flake. Was thinking of getting some meat (shrimp) for once in a while. Testing is good. Water changes every two weeks and i exclusively use the water from the reef store since i have very very hard water.

Read that about flower pots...after the reef store sold them to me. So far so good but im prepared for them to not make it and trying to research more before purchase and not rely on the reef store employees...

My nitrates and phosphate are practically zero...should i leave my skimmer off for a bit maybe? I did have them up top but they didnt seem happy so recently moved them to see if it helps

When you say hard water have you tested the Alk ?

I also have extremely hard water where it destroys kettles And coffee makers in no time .
But will suggest making your own water is by far the best
It gives you 100% control over water quality ,
When you need water in the case of emergency you don’t have to wait for the store to open ,
You know how often the filters are changed and if it’s producing higher tds and stability when it comes to using the same salt

But the top perk is the money saved by not paying a lfs for their free water
