Hi,

My name is Matt and I have never kept a SW tank before. I wanted to pick you brains bout tanks.

What ar your thoughts about buying a second hand set up Vs. brand new

Thanks
Matt

Go for it. You can save some money. You'll need it for all the other equipment you need to buy. Just make sure it does not leak.

Things to look for with a used tank:

Damage to seams... rips, tears, slices, peeling, discoloration..
Damage to top, bottom, and center brace
Damage to overflow
Scratches... If there are any, make sure you can live with them
How long the tank has been sitting with no water
Cracks...obviously.. But make sure to check near bulkheads
