Given the current stay at home situations, i was hoping to store 10 gallons of saltwater from my local fish store in a clear plastic tote from the store. It has a lid with lock (not waterproof, but won't be transporting with it). Would i be able to store 10 gallons of mixed saltwater in the tote for 2-3 weeks so I can keep up with my water changes? I was planning to put a wave maker in it to help keep it moving. Any advice is appreciated.

Also, how can i clean it since i just bought it from the store? I was going to use distilled water and vinegar to clean it out.

I don't see why you couldn't use it to store water, a food grade container would be your safest bet but it should work. Just keep an eye on the water level to check for evaporation.

Water vinegar mixture will work for cleaning and disinfecting.

Perfect, i expect some evaporation but ill just throw some more distilled water in. Thank you for the input!
