i;m needing to drain my tank and move the tank over one direction about 6 inches. what does everyone recommend? i thought just some basic totes that I can rinse out and utilize for storage later on. something like from target or walmart. its just going to hold the water for a temporary amount of time. what are some good recommendations?

5 gallon buckets from Lowes or Home Depot might be a better option, they're easier to carry and move around and come with lids.

i though of those to. its a 125 gallon tank
Gotcha. How about a couple of Brute or Rubbermaid trashcans. I use a 55g Brute to mix salt. Works great.

not a bad idea then when im done with them I can use them for like grass clipping or something. or to put weeds from my yards in and then move them over to trash bags. then if i need to use them again for any reason. just wash them out clean them up and bam reuse it again for the tank.

I bought a couple of these when I had to do it. Now my wife stores her "crap" in them.

Little cheaper then brutes, and they don't bow out from the water.
