Toughts on new build

Hi everyone,

I’m busy with a scape for a new build.
I was wondering if you could share your opinion on the rockworks and if you have any suggestions for me.
The tank base is 90x60 cm (3x2 feet)

What type of tank are you going for? Suggestions are always based on what you want as an outcome.

Regardless of what you are going for I would use some more rockwork, putting that in a tank and filling it with water is going to look really empty.

I do like the varient 2 structure, looks a bit more natural

I like the 1st but I would add more ledges for corals to go on.

Hmmm… Are you going to add dinos? That changes the aesthetics. Anywho, either option is fine. You’ll probably add more rock anyways because that means more coral.

Any fish? Because right now there is not enough of hides and caves for them.

I like number 2 more but primarily for the fact that you’ll have more interesting places to put coral. + 1 to add more rock!

So, in the end I need to add more rocks…
I will work with the chisel and see what I can achieve, today. Then I’ll post it.

The tank is probably going to be filled mainly with soft corals and gorgonians due to lower maintenance requirements, as I often travel for work.

Fish: I have two clowns moving from my current tank. Then maybe a Midas blenny, a wrasse (cleaner or 4-stripes if I can find it), banggai cardinal, a pseudochromis (fridmani or paccagnellae) and then let’s see…

After some chisel work, here it is how it looks:

There are a lot of caves and places to hides as well as a small “canyon”. The rocks are far away from the front and side glasses, so it should be OK.

The rock at the very top right will be fixed with epoxy putty at a different angle.

What do you guys think? Is it better now?

I actually liked your first option a lot lol........I would have kept that and just added another smaller island to the left of it like you did on your rescape. IMO it doesn't look as natural with the two identical "caves". I also like the extra height of your first option.

Unfortunately I ran out of larger rocks, so that is what I could do with what was left.
I can still increase a bit the height of the block on the right side…
I could also rotate the block on the left side, so that there’s a diagonal line going in the opposite direction compared to the other block
