Hi Folks,

I was using AFR for my nano and got great results, after that I decided to try Triton other methods (my tank is a 70l Net ALL in one).
But got some algae problems, now I am moving back to AFR, but the BRS DIY receipt.
For my current setup, around 8 sps frags I am dosing around 25ml daily to keep 7.5dkh.
I am cycling my New tank 200l net and want tô use AFR, will It be an option (I am not concerned with the cost) I am not sure If It Will cover ALL tank needs once it will be a sps dominated tank.

Any clues?

Thanks!

Are you asking if the TM AFR DIY recipe is viable? It is more or less is the same product. We mix it rather than buying the pre-made. In fact it is so popular that they now have a complete solution in powder form overseas in Europe. Due out here later this year sometime around September or so. So no more DIY unless the price is still higher.

Anyway if you are asking if the DIY is good, yes. There is a thread in the BRS subforum that talks about it. I use it in my 210 gallon and currently dosing about 36 ml / day to maintain 8.3 alk. Ca is around 450 - 470 and Mg in the 1350 range.

Here - in case this helps. Zack's tank is pretty solid and I believe that is all he doses. It is not going to replace a full balling system like triton or others. It does, however, provide more than your traditional two part.
