Has anybody used trace elements an hand a bad reaction in your tank I was advised to use it to bring color to my zoas so far it has not done any good other then kill lots of zenias :(

Stick with RO/DI water,a good salt mix and regular water changes until such time as regular water water testing with reliable test kits shows you have a demand for something specific and that that substance is in fact necessary for coral health. So many of the bottled products contain elements not needed or at such far out levels your system gets out of whack and its a real PITA to get things back in balance. Everything your zoanthids need is in the salt and at the correct levels. Leave that crap on the store shelf where it belongs and your tank will be much happier and more stable.
 
Another thing is look at that bottle. It says it is for "Saltwater Fish", no mention of corals either hard or soft varieties. Snake oil.
 
Thanks azdesertrat the only reason that I used it was because 1 of the workers on my local fish store told me to use it for that reason
