Hey Guys, I have had this trachyphyllia for about 2-3 weeks and it just started to die off. I messaged the guy I purchased them from and he said its probably a bacteria infection. I have another one and I don't want it to die as well? All parameters seem fine. Any help I would like to try and save this guy and prevent anything else from dying!!!!

chaase68, welcome to R2R, and sorry to hear about the struggling trachy. these are one of my favorite LPS corals.

• how long has the other one been in the tank??
• how old is the tank?

What’s your tank parameters

They have both been in there at the same time, a few weeks. I have had other corals in the tank for over a year or two. Tanks been set up for about 2-2.5 years. They are my favorite! Idk why it seems to be an issue.

two to three weeks pretty much rules out initial acclimation problems. trachys don’t really need to be spot-fed, but in this case, it may not be a bad idea.

like sixty_reefer inquired, it will be helpful to know yr last tank parameter readings (and date).

• did you initially move the trachy around a lot?
• what lights are you running?
• the location receives moderate flow?

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
