Hey guys!

So after the start to my tank was an absolute disaster over a year ago, I am still on edge when corals do new things in my tank, even when I read threads that assure me everything is fine. Take a look at my trachy here, just tell me if I am making the right assumptions. Ignore the blown out blues, etc. I cannot figure out how to take a good picture of my tank.

1) Trachy when it arrived, looked fine, nothing much going on.

2) Moved trachy to new spot and fed reef roids in a more pasty mixture than watery. I assume this is him 'pooping'? (And not expelling zooxanthellae)

3) He is puffed up here, either because he is trying to move or mad about goby dumping sand on him.

Nothing to worry about in any of these, right?

Are you worried because he’s “puffed” up? Because mine is puffy when he’s happy

Is his color good? He looks good to me. You may want to blow the sand off of him. Mine doesn’t like that

Nothing to worry about, trachyphyllia looks healthy. Occasionally blow the sand off and feed a couple times a week if you see a feeding response.

I pretty much blow the sand off daily, the goby took it upon himself to drop all of the sand in the tank on it today practically lol. I recently moved it to a new area with better flow and it was the first time I had seen it puff up, so I just wanted some other eyes on it. Thank you both for your input, this hobby is relaxing when things are going well and nerve racking when new things happen.

@Dolelo96 , I love your quote that 'mistakes are proof that you are trying'. I have certainly made plenty despite trying to have patience, research as much as possible, and really caring about the success of the tank. Believe it or not that quote put a smile on my face tonight.

I’m glad it made you smile. We all make them. I made a really big one a year ago, and lost all my fish. I learned a really big lesson..dipping corals does not kill eggs. I quarantine everything now :)
