Trachy show off thread!

My new baby is a beauty!

She had a bit of a rough shipment. Arrived in cold water with some skeleton showing. All seems to have corrected except one tiny bit which upon further inspection had some algae growing on it. I am assuming that this issue was present before shipping because I have never had any kind of hair algae in my tank.

Anyone have any suggestions? You guys seem to be the experts... I really don't want to lose this piece!

It’ll be fine. Trachys are very hardy. They are also very hungry, all the time... Give it some pellets and watch it melt.

Close call with my trachy. Moved two angels over from my wife's FOWLR we tore down. Too much to care for. The angels proved to have quite the taste for acans and trachys. Only took a few days, but it's back out and happy again.

Indo trachy's are back, but $1200  No thanks. I have seen others that are nicer and half the price. Just waiting......

I'll have what she's having

Mine are both from Unique Corals and together only cost 1/4 of that $1200 one.
They had a bunch on their site at the end of last year, but I haven't seen any on there in a while. Hopefully they will post some more soon.

Glad some one brought this thread up again. My three I posted in 2018 #12, went through heck and back. In May 2019 the cleaning staff splashed water on my power strip leaving my tank with out power for two days. I lost all my SPS, all but one fish, and the Welso/Trachy's enlarged to double their size at first. Once they receded I lost the red one, one receded and lost 40% flesh. This one lost a little color but is doing fine.

Here’s mine. Had the large one about 3 weeks and the smaller 2 weeks. In love with these corals. Just can’t get them to plump up like many in this thread.

not sure if I have the lighting right??

fingers crossed

Guys. I added another Trachy this week. When you order a coral online do they sometimes come in bleached out looking The order pic it looked beautuful pink blue and green.

After 4 days it looks the same. Thoughts?

I love my trachy! Thought it was just a red/green but it is starting to develop orange streaks throughout also!
