Hello everyone,

for few months now I have a problem with my trachy. It all started when my favia began to loose its tissue from the outside of the colony and it was progressing towards the middle, and finally after few weeks whole coral was gone. The edge of the colony on that time was white jelly-like tissue, around 2 mm thick. Had no idea what caused this.

Some months after I've noticed similar situation on my trachy, the edge of the coral, where it touches the skeleton, began to appear white, then became jelly-like thing, just like on favia. I tried dips (Coral protec, AF dip), as well as Iodine dip, RO water dip, mechanical cleaning. No results, after few days the jelly came back. Now, like half year after, maybe even more than that, coral is starting to look bad, today I've noticed a little bit of skeleton, which shouldn't be visible.

I don't blame parameters cause every other coral seems to be fine. But who knows... In gerneral - Salinity is 33ppt, I try to keep kH at 8, pH is usually above 8, up to 8.3, NO3 around 5 (during favias death it was lower). Last ICP showed deficiency of Iodine and Strontium. Tin was above normal (0.0573 mg/l). This or next week I'm gonna do another ICP.

I attach some photos and a video and ask you guys for help. What is it? How can I help my coral?

Thanks!

Elevate off bottom as sabd May be irritating it.
Moderate lighting and water flow and feeding 2x per week makes them happy.
Check your salinity, ph, alk and CA levels

I will remove sponges and all the stuff from the base, also elevate it a little, however it was fine for almost a year in such conditions, until this started happening. I will move it to the side of the tank where the flow is weaker and is a little bit darker, but I think the reaction to strong light would be different.
Salinity is at 33ppt, ALK 8, Ca 400-410, Mg 1300.

I bought some carbon, it will arrive tomorrow, I will add it to the tank.

Do you run gfo?
Nope, should I? Last ICP showed PO4 at 0.0598 mg/l. Hopefully it is more or less the same now. I will see in few days after another ICP.

Nope, sometimes I see coral recede like that with too much gfo.
