Never been but seriously considering going to Reef a Palooza. Do light, pump, etc. manufacturers sell items at these shows? If so any good deals or just normal pricing. Defiantly not reason for attending but I am in need of a few things and am curious.

You see more equipment companies at MACNA and some do sell their display units at the end of the show.

Absolutely. There are lots of deals to be had. Especially if you get stuff from vendors not wanting to take whatever home with them on the last day

Is that a region specific or once a year type event? I would love to visit one but up here in New England I'v never known of any events like that...

MACNA moves around the country. This year is the 29th annual conference is being held in New Orleans.

MACNA is the super bowl of reefing events and it's once a year. It also changes locations each year. Reefapalooza should also be held in NY sometime this year. I'm not sure of when though

It's a great show. Although I am biased because of my local affiliation, the California show in Anaheim this year is going to be epic. Orlando and New York are fantastic as well, but, the original is moving to a new location this year literally across the street from Disneyland. We are currently working in details for the OC show, and I promise it will be an event you won't want to miss...

Speaking g of these shows, my favorite part is being able to meet reefers from all over the country. Last year in Orlando, my wife and I had an absolute blast talking, comparing notes, and enjoying an adult beverage at night at the resort.
Same thing in New York, and obviously here in So Cal. One of the things I am most looking forward to with the new location for the OC show is the ability to meet, hang with and talk with people you may recognise (or not) from the forums.
The new location (Anaheim Hilton) is much more centrally located for those coming in from out of town, with the ability to congregate with show goers before, during and after the show as well.

Actually the NY show is located in NJ at the Meadowlands (kind of like the Giants belong to NY but NJ built their stadium - Yep, I'm a Jersey girl)
