Trading question...

Please read here before posting. Outside comments are not permitted per R2R's feedback forum policy. This is to allow the buyer and seller to have a streamlined conversation and hopefully come to a mutually satisfactory resolution in a negative transaction. If you would like to contribute your own feedback experience with either the buyer or seller, you may do so by creating your own feedback thread. Only the thread starter and vendor will have posting access. Thank you.

So I guess I got dupped because I'm too nice. I've got someone on here (no names yet) that I setup a trade with. It was something like 6 of my chalice's for 6 of his. We were supposed to ship on a wed like a month ago (probably longer). I shipped and spent about $70 bucks to get it to him. I get home to a PM saying that he didn't have a box. so I said it's ok he could send his corals to me in my box when he gets it. He then says he's going to ship on tue. wed comes around no package. then I pm him and he says I never said if that was ok or not...meanwhile I told him ship it to me whenever just let me know. So he says he'll ship it the next week. I made sure to say that was good for me. again, no package. same thing the next week. now he's not even responding to my pms. What steps can/should be taken?

I would definitely start by leaving him feedback so that other members dont go through the same experience. It seems like to me that you've given him enough time to make it right and especially now if he is not responding. Sorry to hear about this.

Not alot. I would PM him one more time and if no reply I would post this all over the web just to make sure it dont happen to anybody else

Also sending u PM

Not much you can do to be honest.. I say send him 1 more PM if he does not respond within a week then post - feeback..

With it being a personal action between the two parties there is not much we as Mods can do. What I suggest is make it public, use the feedback forum explain exactly what happened in detail with no flaming. The feedback forum is going to be you best tool in this situation. The less comfortable you make him/her in doing trades with others or others with him will help this person realize that you can screw around with other reefers when they conduct themselves open and honest. As a reefer myself if I know that if someone doesn't conduct trades in an open and honest manner I might not or won't do trades even if they have some thing I want and vise verse.....I say give them feedback it has been long enough if it was done over a month go that is plenty enough time to make good on their side....Do it make it public so others don't get taken, I don't care who this person is......

I say give him every chance to make it good, then when he doesn't go public, everywhere.
IMO a month is long enough.

sorry man, I hate to hear stuff like that. It makes it hard to feel comfortable doing trades. I have two trades planned right now and so far both people have been great to deal with. I think that I would make it public just to help someone else from making the same mistake you know. Good luck with everything

I sent him one last pm...We'll see what happens. If nothing happens I'll post his name.

The worst part is...it seemed like such a legit deal up untill what seems like lies started.

Sorry to hear this for you. I hope he comes through. Post his name if not so others will know not to deal with him.

You hav'nt posted his info yet. Hopefully that means everything turned out for the best. Good luck
