Thought I would share my tank. Not a pretty setup by any means. But it works. Tank is a 50 tub (36"x18"x18"). There are 2 Taam Sieo 1000s and 2x Maxijet 400s with Sureflows (total 4000+gph). Behind the rock there is a Maxijet 1200 that pushes though a perforated 1/2" PVC running the bottom length back wall. Dual 1" bulkhead overflows. One flows to a 20 cube refugium that sits to the side of the display and drains to the 20 long sump. The other directly to the sump.
Sump contains a DIY skimmer powered by an Octopus 3000 needlewheel and return is with a Quietone 4000.
Top-off is with a 5gl bucket/Maxijet of RO/DI auto topoff. Kalk dosing with doser.
Lighting is by a 150wt Mh Phoenix 14k and 6 24" T5s (4 actinic and 2 daylight).

I hate to break it to you, but that tank is far from trailer trash. Can you post some close up pics of the different zoanthids and palys?

that's pretty impressive... from collecting FL rics to z's and p's... nice!!! :)

Nice collection of zoanthids and palys?

Can you show a few close ups ?

Haha. Got you all fooled. The Refugium stand is a 5gl RC bucket and the tub/display stand is nothing but 2x4s. The doser works by a light sensor that is sitting under a 10wt light bulb that is controlled by a Milwaukee controller that shuts off when the ph drops thus the reverse control for the kalk. Couldn't afford the proper controller. Lighting is a 24" MH 2xT5 fixture and 2 raingutter lengths mounted on the back wall holding 4xT5s.
Had planned on getting a nice system but with work cut backs that kind of fell though.
I do have to admit, though the setup is nothing to show-off and defenatly not one for a photo contest, putting it together at low cost and keeping it operating was/is kind of fun. And keeping/growing out high end zoanthids helps take my mind off of the trailer trash setup.
And thank for the complements.

I was able to score a 1/3hp Aquatech slimeline for next to nothing. Already heating up here. That I am very grateful for. Be able to keep the tank at a constant 80F.
Livestock pics. These keep my mind off of the low end build. As long as everything benefits these guys...that's all that counts I guess.

That's is crazy! Makes me wonder about what tanks are lurking in all those trailer parks out there. Sweet!

I'll take that annoying trailer trash any day (speaking with my mustard stained wife beater...)

so...what zoas/paly's are your favorite???
Probably my palythoa grandis. Was a 3 polyp frag that a LRS gave me cause it was white and almost dead and now there are 10 healthy polyps that eat like little piggies.

I never said anything about the livestock being trailer trash, just the set up. The livestock isn't my doing. I care for it, but I didn't build it.

You've got some beautiful pieces in there. I just keep adding to my collection. Soon I'll have something that I can be proud of.

Nice tanks, The colors of your zoas really come out. Thats a bad butt design!
