I have a pair of black onyx clownfish and was wondering if there was any way to train or teach them to stop biting my hands. Every time i put my hands in my tank to clean it or move a coral the male (I assume ) swims over to my hand and starts going crazy. he will swim around my hand and sometimes swing his tail to splash it and then he bites it. It really gets annoying so do you know if theres any way to get him to stop? The female (again assuming) is passive and has never tried to bite me.

good luck. my clown pair and dominant tang do the same thing.

When my clown got close to come bite me I would chase him away with my hand before he got too close. After awhile he got the hint and stopped.

Catch them with a net and them put them back later. Thats what I have to do everytime I clean my tank.

IME I've always noticed it was the female who bit me, if you would like a positive id you should take a photo of them both and post it. not saying we will know after that, but it's some peace of mind if you do! haha, try feeding like 10minutes before putting your hand in. i actually had a tomato draw blood from me before!
