ok so someone just put a post about a license to have a saltwater tank. I do Not feel we need a license but a nice training session should be a requirement to start in this hobby/trade. look we all can agree that this is a second job sometimes and most questions are beginner questions like how do I cycle a tank why does the ammonia and nitrate spike what fish can be in what size tank why cant I have a reef tank with a great white in it lol I think there should be a training course on how to maintain and establish a great piece of art work aka the mini oceans we all love WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK...........

I'd not think training session. I learned by reading at first, (back in the stone age), now its to easy to pick up the Droid and look into You-Tube for How to Set up anything nowadays. Theres absolutely no reason for some of the mistakes that happen anymore due to lack of knowledge. It lack of asking or lack of looking thats the issue.

yeah but some people still dont know were to look just like people dont know not to buy fish from petco or how to tell whether a fish is healthy or not this training course would help set them up for success

The key is to get them to get there information from the right place. Anyone that is letting Facebook, or most LFS tell them what they need and need to do is screwed. Hell most of the books at the local book store have a lot of out of date information in them. I would say the ideal place to start would be with the LFS to get the word about the information R2R has, but I suspect most would not be that interested in directing potential customers to anything online as they frequently tell people what they want to hear not what they should know. Not to mention most LFS can not compete with the prices available online.
Anyone else have any ideas as to how to get the word out about to the great articles on R2R not to mention all of the very helpful people on forums?
