Transfer 25g from coffee table to new cabinet

Hi guys

After some input. Just built a new cabinet for waterbox 25. Want to move it from coffee table to new cabinet in same spot

My plan: drain most water, leave the 4 fish in there in a tiny bit of water, corals will be ok out of water for few minutes. Lift the tank about 1m to remove the coffee table, and put the new cabinet back in same place. Then quickly get the removed tank water back in

Is this bad idea? I will try my best to support the weight under the tank

Or are there any other or better ways to do it?

I think thats a bad idea. I would drain most of the water into 5 gallon buckets that home depot has and put corals in one and fish in the other. Tanks are heavier with water than you think and keeping it level so stuff doesnt fall and knock around in the tank is really challenging. For the fish’s safety I would just put them in a bucket with the water you take out and then put it all back in. Dont want to squish a fish, and the and will get super disturbed and cloudy and the fish would be breathing all that stuff while you re filled the tank. I would then add the water, rock, coral and fish back in that order!

I was hopeful it would be easier than that as I don't want to disturb the aquascape as corals are all glued in place

You’re just lifting, swapping the stand and resetting right? If your rocks are relatively stable and you’ve got a few mates to help you I’d be comfortable with your plan.

Make sure you remove the pumps, light and anything else with a power cord that’ll complicate the lift.

Yep just a quick lift with straight swap. Was gonna have the new cabinet right next to it to lift onto, then slide the new cabinet into the exact same spot

Reason I got the cabinet is the bloody cat thinks all the cords are his to play with and he sleeps against the tank. New cabinet has no room for him and I can hide the cables etc inside the cab

Ah okay I miss read. Im good with the plan if you have lots of help and the rocks are glued together. If not then they will fall and you would need to probably do what I suggested to avoid hitting the coral and fish and hurting them
