Trying to figure out the best way to move my live rock and corals from my 100g to 300g tank.

I have a lot of well established pukani live rock and some real Tonga live rock that I’m going to reuse.

The issue, I have a lot of sps that is encrusted onto the live rock. I want to aquascape the tank with additional live rock. I have e Marco 400 to connect all the old and new live rock.

I’ve seeded several Brightwell bricks so the live rock isn’t needed for biological processing any longer. I’m seeding a 55g bin full of new live rock now too.

My idea would be to hacksaw off the corals and leave in the current 100g and then take the new and old live rock and create my aquascape and add into the new 300g. I would try and do each piece quickly so not to kill off the existing live rock.

The concerns I have are:
The coral bases will still be on the old rock
The old tank will have little live rock left
There are several corals so encrusted that they can’t be removed.

Just curious if anyone has ever done something similar? Any thought on how to avoid risk?

if you dont wanna cut it up i would try to match the two tanks parameters and just move it over

I’ve thought about that.

The aquascaping will be much different going to a bigger tank so the mounting locations may not be optimal
