Well....I thought the Evo looked a little funky the other day and was gone most of the weekend. Looks like I have a dino infestation and it is rapidly attacking corals and so on.
My lagoon just got up and running.
Is it possible to remove, dip and swap the corals to the new tank? What about fish?
Or do I just leave the corals and fish in place and fight the dinos while hoping they all survive and see what happens?

What is your phosphate (and nitrate too) level?

Dinos are in every tank. The problem is only when they get out of control. I would argue putting the corals and fish in a new tank will make the problem worse, given that dinos often pop up when a tank has 0.00ppm phosphate

I got home after a day out and about and had to go on shift till 6am. I'll get some parameters in the morning. But I did check phosphates on Sat and they were at 0.

I would do 5 day treatment than risk any getting into new tank.
Here is a sure bet:
First- Check nitrates to assure theyre not elevated.
Here is full program:
Prepare by starting with a water change and blow this stuff loose with a turkey baster and siphon up loose particles.
Turn lights off (at least white and run blue at 10-15%) for 5 days and at night dose 1ml of hydrogen peroxide per 10 gallons for all 5 nights. If you dont have light dependent coral- turn all lights off.
During the day dose 1ml of liquid bacteria (such as bacter 7) per 10 gallons.
Clean filters daily and DO NOT FEED CORAL FOODS OR ADD NOPOX as it is food for dinos.
Day 5,, you can start with blue lights - ramping up and work your white lights up slowly

I would try to get that up via phosphate dosing or heavier feeding. Fish usually don't mind heavier feeding :)

So I made the jump and ordered some Hannah checkers for phosphate and nitrate. I was using the API kit....I know I know....
Killed the lights and started dosing hydrogen peroxide. Cleaning stuff up and changing water out in the morning after I get off shift. I also ordered a small UV light that will fit in the back chamber of the Evo and some Vibrant as well.
10 hrs after the first dose of peroxide and about 30 hrs into the blackout and there is a notice difference. Less spiderwebs of slimy algae strung about and none of the bubbles all over the place.

Using vibrant might bring back the Dino’s be wary ( vibrant kills all algae , Dino’s back to their preferred environment = Dino bloom) I would aim to increase nutrients / add some more bacteria to out compete

Going into day 3....tank has had blues only on set very low to try and keep the RFAs and other corals happy. Cleaned a bunch of stuff off, changed poly filter every day, did a water change and been dosing hydrogen peroxide at 1.25ml.
The tank is already rapidly clearing up!

Late reply, but I am going through the same. What light did you order?
