Transferring from Dino tank to Clean tank

I'm about to do another round of the Vibrant Corals bacteria method for dinoflagellates. I had a lot of success with it the first time, but towards the end I became a little to lax with the dosing and they came back. Although its much lighter (been a few days since I first saw the brown and it's basically only dusting on my sand), my corals responded negatively to the treatment the first time, so this time I'm planning on putting them all in a Nuvo 10 for the week or so of the treatment.

My question is basically is there a way to kill off any potential dino that might be on the plugs, base of coral, etc., before moving it into a new system? I can remove what I can see, but should I do a coral dip/freshwater dip, beforehand?

Unfortunately no. You might be able to reduce their population to some extent, but you can't eradicate them without risking your corals.

Maybe a three day blackout before you move them. A good swish in new clean water then into new tank. Let me know if this helps as I will be doing the same kind of transfer soon.

That is a great method just follow the directions and you will be fine. One thing I’ll mention is add the bacteria and vodka during the day light hours. The last time I ran that method I had my refugium lights on 24/7. Good luck keep us posted on your battle.
