Transferring Monti from a tank with GHA

Hello!
I have a small red monti in my QT that has GHA growing in the tank. It didn't have any GHA until the monti went in. I've been dipping it in Seachem Reef Dip as per directions and then putting it back in the QT. There is also a lionfish in the QT with prazi in the water.
Question is how do I get the GHA not to transfer over to the DP from the frag?

If its indeed GHA I would not worry about it if your system is algae free.
But make sure it's not something else like bryopsis

From my experience dip doesn’t kill GHA i usually dip frags and gently remove gha with a soft toothbrush and place frags on sandbed overnight to let hermits pick at any remaining algae

If there isn’t any GHA on the actual coral itself, I’d just remove it from the plug if on one and just put it in. In my tank, tangs made quick work of any algae. If i just hold a frag, they swim up and know what to do.

I might be mistaken, is it GHA or byopsis?

Theres no plug, its just sitting on the pvc so i can easily dip and move it till i epoxy it to the DP.

No, byropsis is easy to deal with especially in a QT. You can easily nuke it with flucanozole. Supposedly CoralRx dips helps remove byropsis from frags but I can’t attest to the science behind that.

If you want a clean monti frag you need to bandsaw all the edges and frag plug off and seal it onto a new substrate with superglue. This applies to algae or monti pests (nudibranches) as well.

If you can’t do that just introduce a turbo snail to keep the GHA at bay.

bryopsis is not easy sir...not at all.
Coral rx do not treat it
Snails do not eat it.
The forums full of the flucanozol thing and 80% saying di not work or it came back.

I would just clean it and move it over.

It's not like your DT is free of gha spores...it just being eaten or doesn't have the nutrients to grow.
