I'm in the process of moving stuff from my 10g to a 30g. I am going to turn the 10g to a QT tank, and won't need the sand. Is it fine if I transfer 50-75% (over time, not all at once) of the sand from my original 10g tank to the 30g? same with the LR. Fish/inverts will stay in the 10g until the 30g is completely cycled.

@brandon429 has a good method for what is called a "Skip Cycle". Maybe he can chime in and help ya out. I have used it and it worked great.
