any ideas on how to trap the tangs in my tank?? I have two regal tangs one is about 2" and the other is 5" and I have a purple tang that is about 4" I'm moving the into my 180g and want to do it slow so I don't wanna break the tank down first.

I don't know about larger fish trapping but I have ha success with putting a desired treat in a glass jar wait for them to swim in for a bite then block the exit with hand and pull out. Cat like reflexes are key

AquaMedic fish trap. Caught a wrasse with mine in 3 days.

The super cheap fish trap is a 2 liter coke bottle. Cut the screw top so it's just a big enough hole for one fish to fit in. Then cut the bottle at the base of the funnel. In very it back inside the body of the bottle, so kind of like a crab trap. Put some food in there. I put a small hole with fishing line at the top of the body so you can pull it out quick once it goes in.

This idea is good for smaller fish . Not so good for tangs or angels

Just a cheap trial. Costs $2 to try. Definitely I could just have been lucky, but used it a bunch a times when my purple tang was a butt head. You had to be quick pulling it out! I made the entrance hole about three inches and cut the top section further back. Now I have a real fish trap though.
Also depending on tank size, drain it down almost empty to net the fish. Then fill it back up if you want to transfer them one at a time.
