I am battling golden algae (I believe). Pondering if I could take half my rocks out and leave them in a covered brute trash can for a 3-5 day blackout. Has anyone tried this?

Thinking the process would go:
1.) water change
2.) put rocks in the water just removed from the tank with a power head or two and a heater.
2b.) dose vibrant to trash can?
3.) put lid on and let sit for 3- 5 days
4.) pull rocks out of can and toothbrush algae before returning to main tank.

Repeat following week for other rocks.
My questions are:
1.) Would this work to kill off algae?
2.) Would this kill the coralline algae i finally have started?
3.) Some rocks have very limited coral On them (mushrooms mostly), would they be ok for 3-5 days?
4.) Should I just try a full tank black out?

Picture is for reference, it is not as bad right now. I have made a lot of other changes (weekly 18 gallon water changes, feeding less, etc).

Thanks.

I would try this first. Vibrant Aquarium Cleaner for Marine
I had some GHA issues in the frag tank and it cleaned it up in 3 weeks. 1ml per 10 gal once a week
