I went to my local humane society and checked the tile section, they have some of the red brick tile and what I believe is travertine tile? I’m not familiar with it at all besides quick google searches and compare from images.. I places 6 tiles In about 3L of 0 TDS RO/DI water and have been measuring the TDS to see if anything is leaching out.. slowly it’s gone up to about 70 TDS in about 5 days.. I know with TDS we don’t know what it is.. but could the tiles be leaching phosphates? Is that something travertine does? Or could they possibly not be travertine? Just trying to make sure these tiles are safe before I put them in my tank with my coral. Also is the red brick tile safe too?

I know FarmerTy is using them and his reef is amazing

I’ve seen travertine used before also seen 4” ceramic tile at a frag swap once your tds is probably dust, oil or something Im sure Aslong as your rinse it very well Should be ok and I would not attempt red bricks I would think they would have some kind of dye in the manufacturing Process
