May have spoke too soon. Noticed that past few days in the afternoon my haddoni is deflating. I just switched my lights from radions to MH. All other parameters have been consistent. Was treated with cipro over a month ago and went well. I did introduce a mag that was also treated.

Any thoughts?

Any idea of the new amount par that it’s getting ?
Did you do an acclimattion to the new light ?

I don’t know, I had radions about 8 inches above water at about 50%. These are 250w radium bulbs about 12” off water. I’m also using a shorter photo period by about 2 hours.

I know that doesn’t answer the question but maybe it’s too much light still? All other anemones are fine (2 btas, mag and gig).

Some are likely more light sensitive.
Not sure. I know my shrooms will shrivel if the wander out of the shade.

Try to place a shade screen over it and see what that does.

LEDs are pretty hot off the bulb, meaning high PAR very close, but drop dramatically at depth, while MH tend to penetrate deeper and remain higher PAR at depth in comparison.
It's very possible it's just acclimating to new lights.

Thanks! Will give that a shot. Mouth doesn’t seem to be gaping and looks really good in morning before lights go on.

That would make me think lights for sure, it will probably really like it after it acclimates.

Not really no. Radions have lenses that condense and project and very Led is diffent dependant on lenses.
Similarly You’d have to know the reflector of the mh to determine the penetration as those work as a parabolic lens to change penetration and diffusion/coverage characteristics.

He went from radions to at 50% to 250 halides at an unknown distance and reflectior. A raw 250 has more par than a full up radon at the same distance under 18in or so plus any MH has a wider spectral signature than the radion at. Full even 1:1;1 ratios. (That few use)
So it may no even be overall intensity but but just increase in singular colors.

That sounds all pretty good, and you probably have a better understanding of lighting in general than I do, at least on the radions, and I admit I'm not as in tune on those, but this is obviously pulling out of it's present light, and in past cases this usually has been an acclimation to new lighting.
That may be as you stated a change in colors and temp more than actual PAR readings, I'd be curious to see what both are reading at, but in the meantime shading the area over it might give a clue w/out changing or messing w/ the rest of the tank.
I'd be curious to see what happens in doing that.

Things seem to have turned around. I reduced the photo period of the MHs and used more of the T5. Anemones have stopped deflating and corals seem to be responding well.

What prompted me to try this was a few of my sps seemed to be getting bleached as well. Namely some monti that wasn’t looking too hot on the sand bed.

Sounds like it was the change in lights.
Montis don't need a lot compared to most sps, I usually keep mine lower or mid tank
