Treat fluke by Prazipro

I just noticed couple in mt DT have fluke with symtoms include shaking head, flashing, scratching. I bought Prazipo, focus and metroplex. Mixed food soak with focus/ metroplex, and try to treat prazipro in DT. How much do I need to dose and should I run skimmer, and carbon during treatment because I have wrasses in there too

Prazipro is 1 measured Teaspoon per 20G, you can leave. The skimmer running for aeration but take the collection cup off so it just foams back into the sump. Dose it twice 5-7 days apart and point a powerhead at the surface to get rippling water also as Prazipro depletes 02 from the water. Take the carbon out during treatment.

I used prazipro dosing instructions on the bottle. I remember I needed to remove GAC and stop skimmer. My wrasses were good with bottle prazi instructions. I don’t think you need to do any special feeding for flukes as they are external.

Agree, don’t stop skimmer, just remove cup.

After each dose, I need to do WC 20-25% before second dose, right? I using UV sterilizer and GFO. Do those things effect prazi? I have ich in my tank that why I use UV for ich management and frequent WC

You can do a wc before second dose. Stop uv per instructions.

Prazi is supposed to be essentially gone by around 36 hours. So you might turn UV back on if you had to.

I would recommend just setting up a QT, treating all fish at once, go fallow for 76 days and never worry about it again.

You can but I usually do it either before or after to reduce the possibility of a bacterial bloom. Run copper for 30 days, then Prazi twice 5-7 days apart then it’s just waiting for the 76 day fallow period on your DT.

Wrasses are my concern bc they usually don’t do well during treatment

I’ve QT’ed wrasses in copper power and never had a problem. A six line wrasse should be fine as long as you ramp up the copper slowly.

Not six line, i have pink tail, 2 mccosker, Christmas. I just concern for my pink tail

It should be fine in copper. If you are concerned you can slowly ramp up the copper level.
