I bought a hippo tang a few months back to put in my tank and I didn't bother to quarantine it(big mistake) he was getting bullied by my sailfin. It was tiny so I put him in my 40 until it could get bigger. After a day or 2 in my 40 he broke out with ich, having gone through this once before with one survivor being my leapord wrasse.
I bought a 29 gallon from Petco to set up a hospital tank, and transferred everything over from my 40 and started a copper treatment using copper power with a hannah checker. After 10 or so days the fish in my 90 started showing signs of ich... so effectively I managed to spread disease to both tanks, nightmare scenario. I decided I had to buy another tank, this tank(low boy) eventually be a frag tank but now to be used to house this fish after they went through the copper treatment as a quarantine tank. After the fish in the 40 went through copper treatment at 2.25 ppm for two weeks.I transferred them over to the low boy and took out the fish showing the worst signs of ich or the one prone to it first in the 90 and treated them the same as the last batch and added them to the low boy.
I put the remaining fish in hospital tank where they are currently now. I decided to treat the low boy for internal parasite with feeding the fish a combination of seachem focus and metroplex in their food, the first day was yesterday and today I happened to notice my bellus angel has some white spots on them doesnt look like ich and all the fish are swimming frantically when I go to the tank. The problem is the tank is downstairs and I only go down a few times a day to feed so I'm not sure if they are acting that way because they are hungry or if something is up. My lepord wrasse is losing color especially in the tail, I was thinking maybe it could be flukes and maybe treat them with prazipro. But I dont want to blindly treat the tank for something they dont need and put the fish through unnecessary stress. I'm looking for advice on what my next steps should be any advice?
