Hey guys, recently i purchased 4 clown juves from a lfs with some ick and fungus on them, the tanks already had 2 dead clowns and he was not ready to treat them, as usual. So i bought all four. Currently they are 1.25" approx in size and have white patches on fins and and as i saw the dead tangs with ick on them, i know they have ick too. It was sad so i just bought them as they were at least eating. with the help of @Humblefish and other fellow hobbyist, i was able to treat a clown with fungus.

The question is should i treat them using cupramine (as it has fungus and ick) or first treat fungus using furan2 kana and metro, then cp and metro with prazi? Just a confusion.

If the infection looks bad enough then treat that first with the antibiotics, then go for the CP. Do you have pictures of these guys? Clowns are pretty tuff and can withstand ick for a while depending on their overall health.

I think shes talking about the white patches on the fins which would tell me infection as well. Pics would be the best help.

What infection are you referring to?
Ich, fungus or something else that I missed?
fab

fungus isn't something you run across in saltwater. I assumed your referring to a bacterial infection which is most likely. pictures would help of course :)

I tried clicking, but they nothing is clear. The fungus on fins are light

Yea, white pathes on fin. doing the same thing u told me in the last thread, furan2, kana and metro. Every 24hrs for 5days or every 48hrs for 10 days?

Keep it going (following the directions on each individual med) for 10 days then reassess their condition

After the bacterial/fungal treatment, should i dose cp with prazipro? As im alreading dosing metro. Its ok to dose cp with prazi right?

I'm not exactly up on CP and what can be combined with it. @Humblefish is best for that as I've still never used it :( So my advice would steer toward the safe side and say "Finish out the antibiotics trio and then start the CP and prazi after."

Yup after the current treatment, ill do a wc, run carbon and wait for a day, then dose cp and prazi.

You can combine CP with most powder medications: Prazi, metro, antibiotics. You just never want to mix CP with a liquid medication which uses a solubilizing agent (ex. Prazipro). The resulting interaction can lead to a severe bacterial bloom which can starve all O2 out of the water and suffocate the fish.

Hey, currently treating bacterial fin infection using furan2, metro and kana. After this ill be starting the cp treatment, and then prazi. Should i add metro again with prazi?

No, just prazi will be needed (to deworm) after the infection has cleared.

So you had two clowns that died? But then you went and bought four more that have ich. Oh my. I hope that you can save them. Good luck.

Well one jumped out through a gap (my silly mistake, now solved). One had an unknown issue (open jaw lock). The four clowns i bought were from the same batch, the lfs didnt give a dam about them, all had bacterial infection with 2 dead tangs. He was not reay to treat them, wanted to get rid of them. Most lfs here dont care. So i bought them. yes it was a risk and a bit pricey one too, but jus couldnt see them the way they were kept. I knew no1 would buy them, and they would jus die there suffering, so i got them. Hope they get well, keeping fingers crossed...
