I use the TTM on all my new(to me) fish before I drop them in the DT.
How can I be sure they are not carrying Velvet into the tank?
Is there a special med I need to treat with before they go into the DT?

TTM works for ich but not velvet. Cupramine/copper is the only treatment I know of for velvet, part of the reason i prophylactically treat with cupramine.

There's no way to know for sure that a fish isn't carrying velvet into your DT, but velvet is very aggressive and frequently rapidly fatal, IME, so if nothing has shown up during the quarantine period you're probably safe.

Edit: I believe chloroquine Can also be used, although I have no experience with it
