.35 to .5 and aim for .5. Don’t worry about .6 if you hit close to that. Anything past .8 can be lethal. For cupramime, I highly suggest a Hannah copper tester. The seachem kit can be hard to read at times. Especially if your lighting is more white in the house. Salifert copper test kit is also able to be used.

Also, be sure to ramp up over 4-5 days and then start the clock for the 30 days once you hit .5. Basically add the drops per directions each day until you hit .5.

Just for more info, If dealing with velvet and it is known to actually be velvet, you would hit .35 the first day and then .5 the second day.

Okay then I did it wrong cause it went straight to 0.5 after I added 1ml to my 5 gallon should I do a smaller after change to lower it or just leave it

If fish are not reacting poorly, then I would leave it. In cases of bad ich or velvet, I have dosed to therapeutic levels same day.

Just remember, do not add prime or any other ammonia reducer with cupramime. Ammonia management is water changes or dosing something like biospira in small amounts daily.

If doing a water change, be sure to dose water change water before adding to tank. You do not want the level to go below .5 or the clock resets.

I am using prime to dechlorinate the water before I add salt to it and before I add it to the tank is that a problem ? I don’t have Ro on hand I thought it was to not use it to detoxify the ammonia or anything else in the water after the copper is added
If I need to use rodi it should specify cause how else would you use it in freshwater if not using a dechlorinater ?

Not a good mix. For qt, you can use tap and something made just to remove chlorine. Prime and others form a bad mix with cupramime.

Basic water condition is fine. Even the cheap stuff at Walmart.

If you have no option, prime can be used to declorinate, but you need to aerate it for 48 hours prior to use, I believe. But wouldn’t chance it.

Should I run carbon to take it out then or do a 100% water change I only have prime on hand
I can get rodi tomorrow but not right now.

I’m so confused on how it can be used in freshwater then
Cause it says not to use with dechlorinators which you need to use for freshwater?

How are the fix looking? Is breathing rapid or normal? Normal depends on the fish. Usually about 10-15 breaths or so for smaller fish in a 15 second period.

Certain ones can be used for water to use at a later date. This is where the aeration part comes in.

if you can get rodi or premix sw, may be best just to do that and put fish in water with no copper for now.

Their breathing is the thing to watch at this point. Any labored or fast breathing is a sign they need to be pulled.

Yeah I had to move my firefish the others seem fine I mixed the ro I had (3 ish gallons) and put it in the tank I managed to get the filter running with that much ro and salt I added 2 drops of the copper but not the ml that would raise it to the desired amount
I put the firefish back in my main tank as he wasn’t showing signs of ich I was just being precautious gonna get the water warmed up to temp now and let them into the tank while for the night I added an air stone to help as well
