I have fish that have been in QT for 6 weeks. TTM followed by 2 rounds of prazipro. I'm paranoid about them still carrying ich as I had a lot going on in different tanks and possible cross contamination. They seem in good health but is there an extra step I can take before moving to display? Any baths etc? I was going to try the molly test again but I hate converting because i seem to kill more than I convert over.

That is a tough one. There's always the chance that one of them is a "Typhoid Mary" carrying the parasite/disease but does not show symptoms. A bath in a 22% formalin product is about the strongest attempt to remove undesirables from your fish. However, I'm not a big fan as formalin is a known carcinogen and I use it only for treating known, observable conditions. A milder bath would be in something like Ruby Reef Rally, which I use a lot as both preventative and treatment for observed conditions. Best of luck with your fish. Happy Thanksgiving :)

Thanks. I gave a bath in Ruby Reef before moving to temp tank. Was thinking of doing a 2nd bath of ruby reef before move to display

Or you can always run 2 weeks of copper or Hyposalinity. are these the first two fish in the tank?

No my display currently has fish. All ran through QT previously. QT has 5 fish ready to move. I'm just a little afraid due to all the coral I was also moving around and QT. Im 90% sure I did all correct. Im just paranoid from past mistakes that caused me to tear down once.

It's always a tough call. worse case a 2nd round of treatment or observation for 6 weeks plus.

Not really a must . Many tanks do live with Ich u just need to feed ur fish well and keep stress levels low. But of course it's much better if u can avoid introducing it. An overrated UV with slow flow can also slow down Ich and give ur fish a fighting chance. Some also think that without new additions and stress and if tank goes for 6 months without visible signs of Ich tank would go Ich free even if it was there.
I had a velvet outbreak after 3-4 months with no fish additions do I try to medicate any fish that goes to the system yet there's a limit to how much we need to do as treatment can affect fish long term as well.
