Treatments during quarantine?

I've never quarantined fish before (been extremely lucky!) but have decided not to play Russian roulette with my fish while starting my new 75G. So I got a 29G breeder that will be set up as a QT. I've read that some people only QT 4-6 weeks...some more...some less...some treat for parasites...some don't...some treat for this...some treat for that...etc. Just wondering if I can get some recommendations from all of you. And for those of you that do pre-treat, what do you use. Of course I know this is dependent on what you are quarantining (no copper for certain fish, inverts, etc.).
