I just identified the algae to be Dino tonight I will post pictures. I have resolved to black out my tank and wrapping it in cardboard for the next 3 days. raising Ph to 8.4. using a water clarifier. and possibly Algae fix for freshwater aquariums? Can I use and should I use an algaecide for freshwater aquariums in my reef tank?

H2o2 dosed at 1ml per gallon for 2 weeks

1ml per gallon? that seems like alot. I always thought it was 1ml/ 10 gallons

I have read this as well, 1ml per 10gal not per 1gal.

With that said, I just eradicated dinos from my DT a few weeks ago with no dosing / additives. You want to slowly raise PH to 8.4 while also raising nitrates to (low) detectable levels. Then black out the tank for 72 hours, followed by a water change. This method worked for me 100%.

I have blacked out my tank, boosted pH, dosed H2O2 and had success with all of them. It takes a little time and generally kills my macro algae. The tank I set up this month got Dyno when I brought in some grocery store clams to speed up the cycle. I used Dino-x as directed for 2 days and it was gone. I still have the rest of the bottle if I have another issue.

I will always go there in the future unless I find some new compelling info to stop me.
