Just wanted to share some of my success Im having with my NPS(non photosynthetic) tank.
So here's a little info about the tank.
75 gallon tank with a 30 gallon sump
Vertex Omega 150 skimmer
Reef Dynamics biopellet reactor
GFO reactor and passive carbon in a media bag
Tuna Blue Kessil LED's
2 Gyres 130 and 150 and 1 Jebao WP-40
25 gallon cube plumped into the system which houses my tube anemones
The tank has been up for almost a year and was SPS for 6-7 months before I switched it over to NPS.
And now for some pictures.

Current FTS

Orange Tree Gorg which Im getting great growth from.

Sea Fan

Blueberry Gorg

"Walking Dendro"

And lastly, I have had it in the tank for a little over three months and its almost tripled its size. Basket Star. Very hard to get good pics

And here is my mixture, gets fed 8-10 times a day still working on getting the auto feeding set up.
Fauna Marin- MinD, MinF, Ultra SeaFan, Ultra Clam, MinS, and Ultra Bakto Blend
Also Reef Chili, ESV Dried Phyto, Selcon, ReefNutrition(Oyster Feast, Phyto, and R.O.E) and lastly Aqua Tech AZOX

I am now in the NPS business. I have had a gorg system now for over 3 years, but all were photosynthetic. I now have 5 nps. I am in the process of setting up a auto feeder for my system too. I currently grow phyto and artemia, then supplement with normal food for other corals and animals, then I add the new Reef Nutrition blend for nps, marine snow, and blow off rocks and sand.

I am curious how you are going to set up your auto feeder. I have to get more of the filter feed foods going. I already use the reef chili, vitamins, oyster eggs. I will add your others to my list. My system is a 210g display, so a bit larger. :)

I am thinking of going low tech and just having a jug in a cooler or just a drink thermos (large one) and having a doser hooked up to it. I would have to fill the jug each day or so, but easy and simple. I would use and airline for flow.

Otherwise, I have a DIY magnetic stirring mechanism I can use and drip line to the tank. I will probably set that up first since it is here and ready.

Just nice to see others getting these corals to grow.

I've not got a chance to work on my feeding system but I'm thinking a magnetic stirrer in a cooler with a dosing pump. I did buy a mini fridge just not sure I want to risk drilling it and what not. But I'm still not sure. So far fewer, but heavy feedings with large water changes is working so far.

I am heavily feeding now. I think my tank can handle most of that. My equipment is designed for over twice my tank water. We will see how it goes. I was looking at dosing pump and cooler option too. I have no desire to drill or diy a refridge. :)

How long did your carnation corals take to adapt? I only got mine a week ago. It puffed up once, but is still pretty unhappy. I have it hanging in a cave. The Chili coral opens off and on and it is nice when open. The blueberry is so far seems happy along with some other gorgs.

I haven't been able to find carnations or chilis yet. However they are on the list. I have a couple of my LFS on look out for some.

I thought I saw some on your pics. Must have been another thread. Sorry. I got mine in Chicago. Beef's Reef and Azunutty had carnation corals and Beefy had the chili coral.

I have my autofeed system up and running. Yah!! No more running to the fridge everytime polyps are out. :) So far all my nps is doing great. The carnation coral is perking up and seems better, the fan has tiny white polyps come out all the time, and the chili coral expands and has polyps each evening all night long. My others polyps out on and off. Gorgeous. Sooooo glad I made the plunge.

Are you near Cincinnati at all? We have a swap in Feb and I can ask for certain items to be there. The vendors and I have good communication. They are already on the look out for things for me to bring in Feb. :)

The one at the water park? If so ya I plan to be there.

How did you end up doing your dosing of food?

Cool. It is at the waterpark. Let me know specifically what you are looking for and I can get some requests in.

Food dosing. I have my write up on our site, but not sure I am allowed to link it. So, I will briefly tell you it. I bought an AquaMedic dosing pump with 4 heads. I found an old fridge on craig's list and needed to buy an airpump as mine were all being used.

I drilled the fridge on the top. stuck a 1"pvc 45 in the hole and ran my powercord and food lines through it. I am currently using an airpump to circulate the food cuz it will settle. I only have one stir plate, so I wanted to do this cheaper than getting two more. :)

Here is a shot of the pump and fridge.
